We are looking for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to support the dispensary manager / assistant dispensary manager with the day-to-day management of the dispensary, including organisation of workload and supervision of all staff in the dispensary. The candidate must be an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT).
Key responsibilities include:
1. Line-manage staff and improve dispensary processes to facilitate the safe and efficient supply of medicines to patients.
2. Communicate effectively with the Dispensary Manager, Assistant Dispensary Manager, Dispensary pharmacist(s), patients/carers, and other members of the pharmacy and multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
3. Undertake responsibility for the smooth running of the dispensary and resolve problems in the absence of an assistant dispensary manager.
4. Supervise the provision of dispensary-based services, including inpatient and outpatient services, meeting performance targets with guidance from the dispensary management team.
5. Supervise pharmacy technicians and assistants in the absence of the Assistant Dispensary Manager to deliver patient-focused, quality care.
6. Support staff training and development across all grades within the dispensary.
7. Participate in the Practice Supervisor training programme to provide technical support and training to junior staff.
8. Assist in the management of Clinical Trials in the absence of the assistant dispensary manager.
9. Help organize and supervise the main dispensary operations and coordinate medicine supplies with the stores.
10. Investigate stock level discrepancies according to current procedures.
11. Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for the dispensary.
12. Organize and conduct dispensary induction and training sessions for staff as needed.
