HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER – CONTRACT 12 MONTHS – CHRISTCHURCH DORSET / HYBRID 3 days on site
As a Human Factors Specialist supporting the TRINITY (Battlefield Communications) Programme, you will assist in delivering User-Centred Design and Integration activities. This could include assessing Commercial-Off-The-Shelf equipment against system requirements / user needs; engaging with users to understand their goals and tasks; conducting detailed analyses to understand cognitive workload and human error; anthropometric assessment and workspace/workstation design; working with other engineering functions and disciplines to support their tasks.
AT THE COAL FACE / TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support Vigilant lead HFI specialist in the conduct of human factors activities and integration of HF into the TRINITY design.
* Work with end user groups and HF stakeholders in workshops, trials and User-Centred Design activities.
* Assess prototypes/mock-ups of TRINITY hardware and software solutions
* Conduct analyses such as, task analysis, human error analysis, usability and workload assessments.
* Support Integration Testing and verification activities.
* Produce reports and input to customer deliverables.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: PROVEN ABILITY / KNOWLEDGE
* Proven ability as a Human Factors practitioner in defence or a safety-critical industry.
* Proven ability in the application of Def Stan 00-251 whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team on complex system integration and development projects.
ADDITIONAL SECURITY INFORMATION: WE SEEK A HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER WHO HAS WORKED IN A MILITARY / DEFENCE ENVIRONMENT / INDUSTRY WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS OR WHO IS CAPABLE OF OBTAINING SECURITY CLEARANCE (SC LEVEL MINIMUM)
