We are a long-established firm of Chartered Accountants based in Bolton, and we're looking for a reliable and detail-focused Bookkeeper / Payroll Assistant to manage the internal finances of our practice.
Description
* Maintain up-to-date internal bookkeeping records
* Manage practice bank reconciliations and cashflow
* Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts
* Process staff payroll, including RTI submissions and pension contributions
* Handle VAT returns and liaise with HMRC where necessary
* Support internal budgeting and forecasting processes
* Manage supplier payments and staff expense claims
Profile
A successful Bookkeeper / Payroll should have:
* Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll, ideally within a professional services environment
* Strong working knowledge of accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Discreet and trustworthy when handling confidential financial information
* Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
