CONSTRUCTION/SITE MANAGER - 18 MONTH CONTRACT - SCOTLAND - £550-600 PER DAY OUTSIDE IR35 - ON SITE WORKING - WIND FARM

Our client is looking to hire a skilled Construction Manager to lead the construction phase of an onshore wind farm project in central Scotland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire construction process, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. The role also involves collaborating closely with the Lead Project Manager and the Owner’s Engineer to guarantee smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

* Project Management On-Site: Supervise all activities during the construction phase, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating tasks to ensure the project progresses as planned.
* Supply Chain Coordination: Oversee subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their work aligns with the project’s objectives and timelines.
* Financial Oversight: Track and control project expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget constraints while managing scope variations with suppliers and subcontractors. Provide regular financial updates to the Lead Project Manager.
* Quality Control: Ensure all construction work meets the project’s quality standards. Conduct inspections and audits alongside the Owner’s Engineer to maintain high standards.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety procedures on-site to guarantee the safety of all personnel throughout the project.
* Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders, including the local community, regulatory bodies, and internal teams. Provide regular updates to the Lead Project Manager and address any emerging concerns.
* Collaboration with Owner's Engineer: Work alongside the Owner’s Engineer to ensure that technical and engineering requirements are met. Facilitate ongoing discussions to resolve any engineering-related issues or adjustments.
* Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. Develop contingency plans in collaboration with the Lead Project Manager when necessary.
* Documentation Management: Ensure accurate and current project documentation, including contracts, permits, and progress reports, is maintained.

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Experience: At least 5 years of experience in construction management, particularly with onshore wind farm projects.
* Certifications: Preferred certifications include SMSTS, NEBOSH, PMP, or CCM.

Skills:

* Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
* Excellent organizational and project management skills.
* Proficient in financial management and budgeting.
* Experience handling claims management.
* Deep understanding of health and safety standards.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively.
* Skilled in using construction management tools.
