Upham Inns is expanding its premium pub portfolio across Southern England and is seeking a Designate General Manager to join our Leadership Development Programme.
About the Role
The Designate General Manager programme is a fast-track development path for experienced managers from hospitality, retail or service backgrounds. Participants will receive intensive training, hands‑on experience, and the opportunity to manage a pub within three months.
Base Pay Range
Salary will be up to £42,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead daily operations of a premium pub, ensuring excellent customer service and quality food.
* Manage staff recruitment, training, and development, fostering a high‑performance team.
* Oversee financial targets, P&L, cost control, and staffing budgets.
* Maintain visual standards, health and safety compliance, and brand consistency.
* Collaborate with the Strategic Growth Team to drive sales, marketing, and community engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous success in a Deputy General Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar senior hospitality role.
* Strong leadership, customer focus, and commitment to high standards.
* Willingness to travel across the portfolio and work flexible hours.
