We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Band 8a Oncology Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our Oncology ANP team on an 18 month secondment, with potential for extension.
We are seeking an enthusiastic ANP with experience in oncology and managing patients undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). The successful candidate will work across both the GSTT Site and Queen Marys QMH sites.
The key responsibilities:
·Clinical assessment and review of oncology patients receiving SACT
·Working alongside another Oncology ANP providing cross-cover to ensure continuity of service
·Leading nurse led clinics within Oncology Breast Clinics and Colorectal Clinics reviewing follow up patients undergoing SACT
This multi-faceted role includes expert clinical practice, education, leadership, management, audit and research. The postholder will deliver specialist nursing services and holistic patient care.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Practice
·Working autonomously in the assessment and management of patients undergoing SACT at our Cancer Centres at GSTT and QMS site.
·Undertake Nurse-Lead Breast and Colorectal Clinics: clinically reviewing follow up patients undergoing SACT prior to next cycle of treatments, maintaining excellent standards of nursing care through planning, co-ordinating and delivery.
Leadership and Education
·Lead and provide specialist ANP knowledge to the nursing teams across both Cancer Centres.
·Develop, contribute and lead upon educational programmes working closely with the Oncology Nurse Consultant, Matron and Head of Nursing for Oncology
·Conduct audits and research to inform best practice, enhance patient outcomes
Collaboration
·Liaise with all key members of the MDT advising and supporting colleagues
·Actively contribute to the team development and service improvement initiatives
Expertise
·Proven track record in oncological nursing with specific expertise in the management of patients undergoing SACT

10. Bachelors Degree in nursing, health or management related studies.
11. A Masters level qualification/in progress or equivalent experience
12. Be an independent prescriber or working towards according Non-medical prescribing course
