Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for forward thinking Specialist Occupational Therapists to join the Inpatient Therapy Team at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
The Inpatient Therapy Team works across Acute Medical and Complex Care wards, assessment wards and is part of the Integrated Discharge and Therapy service involving ‘Discharge to Assess’ pathways. The team includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants and works within a multidisciplinary team comprising AHPS, Medics, Pharmacists, Social Workers and Nurses.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must have recent and relevant post-registration experience, an interest in elderly rehabilitation and discharge planning in an acute setting, and be able to travel across the locality independently in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
Responsibilities
* Work as an autonomous practitioner within clinical and professional supervision of Senior Occupational Therapists.
* Manage a defined caseload, using evidence-based, client-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate Occupational Therapy interventions.
* Clearly convey information on diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plans to clients and their carers, playing a key role in discharge planning.
* Delegate, support and train assistant staff.
* Continue professional development through regular training, support and supervision sessions.
