Prospect Health is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and progressive mixed veterinary practice in the stunning Scottish Borders as they search for a passionate and experienced Lead Clinical Director to join and lead their exceptional team.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a senior veterinary professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping clinical standards, guiding senior leadership, and supporting the continued success and growth of two highly respected RCVS-accredited sites.
The Opportunity:
1. Step into a rewarding dual-site leadership role with responsibility across two well-supported, modern practices.
2. Provide strategic direction and clinical leadership while fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture.
3. Work alongside and support senior leaders, including Clinical Directors for Farm, Lead Vets, Practice Managers, and Clinical Nursing Managers.
4. While this is a truly mixed practice, the role offers particular focus on Small Animal clinical excellence, alongside some participation in farm and equine OOH rota.
5. Be part of a forward-thinking group that embraces both innovation and heritage, committed to continuous improvement and exceptional patient care.
6. The practice is located just 45 minutes from Edinburgh in the heart of the beautiful Scottish Bordersoffering a perfect blend of relaxed rural living and easy access to the city.
About the Practice:
7. This long-established mixed practice has a thriving farm client base, a growing companion animal caseload, and is home to one of the UK's leading stem cell, regenerative medicine, and rehabilitation referral clinics.
8. Recent investments have enhanced both large and small animal facilities, including a purpose-built large animal unit and referral suite featuring a hydrotherapy treadmill and a dedicated veterinary physiotherapy team. The practice holds RCVS accreditation and the Bronze iiE Sustainability award.
What We're Looking For:
9. RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical skills
10. Proven leadership experience within veterinary practice
11. A passion for developing teams and upholding clinical excellence
12. Strong communicator with a collaborative, people-focused ethos
13. Confidence in Small Animal clinical practice
