Inpatient Service Manager – Hospital Management Team B8B
Location: Glasgow City (initially based at Gartnavel Royal Hospital). The position is full‑time at a director level.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and take operational management responsibility for the delivery of inpatient services and all hospital‑based clinical activity.
* Ensure the delivery of HSCP objectives in partnership with Community Service Managers and health and social care partners, maintaining links with community‑based services.
* Deliver clinical leadership to inpatient staff across all disciplines and provide operational support to the Head of Adult Services.
* Manage inpatient staffing resources to minimise clinical and non‑clinical risk, including governance, care assurance, standards compliance, professional regulation, complaints, and workforce efficiency.
* Work closely with the Professional Nurse Advisor and senior management to agree priorities for nursing and allied health professional input, providing proactive guidance and professional leadership.
* Deliver safe, effective, person‑centred mental health inpatient service using a multi‑disciplinary approach with minimal restrictions on personal choice.
Qualifications
* Registered mental health nurse with a current NMC live PIN.
* Demonstrated leadership experience in inpatient mental health care.
* Knowledge of psychiatric nursing governance and health‑care quality frameworks.
* Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
