Overview
The Pharmacy Service at St George’s is highly regarded across the Trust, with over 250 staff members working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. The department is friendly, forward thinking and constantly expanding with opportunities for professional and service development including further postgraduate education. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person with good interpersonal and organisational skills who will enjoy being part of this friendly, dynamic team.
Responsibilities
* Support the Lead Pharmacy Technician – Clinical Services and Clinical Pharmacist team leaders in the provision of a ward-based pharmacy service to the clinical speciality and associated wards.
* Work alongside a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to lead and provide a core service of medicines optimisation in clinical areas.
* Arrange supply of discharge medicines which includes dispensing and checking TTAs on the wards.
* Be one of the lead pharmacy technicians supporting to develop the clinical pharmacy technicians and the clinical service.
* Support the induction and training of ward-based pharmacy technicians, ATOs, Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians and Trainee pharmacists.
Qualifications and requirements
* The candidate must hold the NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and be a professional registered Pharmacy Technician who has achieved the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification and be a qualified educational supervisor.
* The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and enjoy both an individual challenge and working as part of a large team.
