Shift Pattern: Weekends only 2 12-hour shifts (Saturday & Sunday) Job Overview Mackle Food Company is seeking motivated Weekend Trainee Engineers to support engineering and maintenance activities within our food production facility. This role is designed to help trainees gain hands-on experience with industrial equipment and machinery through practical tasks, cleaning procedures, and supervised test runs. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop engineering skills while learning how production equipment operates in a live manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Assisting with motor stripping and reassembly Working with belts, drives, and mechanical components Cleaning and maintaining sensitive machinery, including automated equipment and robots Supporting engineers during test runs and equipment checks Ensuring machinery is cleaned and prepared to food-industry standards Following all health, safety, and hygiene procedures Learning how production equipment operates and how faults are identified Training & Development On-the-job training provided by experienced engineers Opportunity to learn about industrial food-processing equipment Exposure to machinery testing, maintenance, and fault-finding Development of safe working practices around automated and robotic systems Skills & Requirements Interest in engineering, maintenance, or mechanical systems Willingness to learn and work hands-on Good attention to detail, especially when cleaning sensitive equipment Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures Reliable and able to work long shifts at weekends Previous engineering experience is not essential (training provided) What We Offer Practical engineering experience in a food manufacturing environment Weekend-only work pattern Supportive training-focused role Opportunity to build skills for a future engineering career Skills: Repairing Fault Finding Electrical Testing
