Top 3 Things to Know About this Job: Lead a well-established NI commercial underwriting team Blend of technical oversight, team leadership, and strategy input Excellent salary, hybrid working and long-term growth potential The Role: • Lead and manage the Commercial Underwriting Team for Northern Ireland, supporting team performance and development • Provide technical guidance on underwriting queries and referrals across commercial products • Ensure underwriting activity is compliant, consistent, and within delegated authority • Monitor and manage workflow and performance KPIs • Support onboarding and ongoing training of team members • Collaborate with internal departments (claims, accounts, audit) and broker partners • Contribute to product development and continuous improvement of underwriting processes • Act as a senior point of contact for escalated broker queries and complaints • Ensure internal standards and regulatory compliance requirements are met The Person: • Proven experience in commercial underwriting, ideally within motor, liability, property or package policies • Prior team leadership or senior underwriting experience • Excellent technical knowledge and decision-making skills • Strong organisational and communication abilities • Customer-focused, with experience supporting broker relationships • Comfortable managing performance, mentoring others and setting team standards • Adaptable and solutions-oriented with a proactive mindset
