FP&A Analyst – Commercial Finance Business Partner
Location Northwich
Role Purpose
The FP&A Analyst will act as a commercial finance business partner to Comms-Care's operational and commercial teams, providing high-quality financial insight, challenge, and decision support across pricing, profitability, and complex customer contracts.
Operating in a services-led, recurring-revenue environment, the role will support the financial governance of managed services, cloud, support, and multi-year commercial arrangements, ensuring sustainable profitability, strong margin discipline, and robust financial control.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded analyst who enjoys working close to the business, influencing decisions, and translating financial data into actionable insight.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
* Act as a trusted finance business partner to Sales, Operations, Service Delivery, and Leadership teams, supporting commercial decision-making across the full contract lifecycle.
* Provide proactive financial insight and challenge on new deals, renewals, and contract variations to ensure alignment with Comms-Care's financial and strategic objectives.
* Support negotiations by clearly articulating financial risks, opportunities, and trade-offs.
Pricing Governance & Commercial Approvals
* Oversight of pricing governance and commercial approval frameworks, ensuring adherence to defined approval thresholds and internal controls.
* Review pricing models, assumptions, and financial viability of deals prior to approval.
* Ensure consistent application of pricing policies across managed services, cloud, support, and project-based contracts.
Margin, Profitability & Cost-to-Serve
* Perform detailed margin, profitability, and cost-to-serve analysis by customer, contract, service line, and segment.
* Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve contribution margin and overall financial performance.
* Partner with operational teams to improve cost transparency and efficiency.
Complex Commercial & Contract Structuring
* Financial structuring and review of complex commercial arrangements, including:
o Multi-year contracts
o Volume-based pricing models
o Managed services and support contracts
o Cloud and consumption-based services
* Assess long-term profitability, cash flow, and risk exposure, ensuring contracts are financially sound over their full lifecycle.
Margin Leakage & Continuous Improvement
* Proactively identify margin leakage, revenue erosion, and commercial inefficiencies across contracts and service delivery.
* Work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions and improve financial outcomes.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes, reporting, and governance.
Segmental Reporting & Management Information
* Executive ownership and review of Segmental Reporting, ensuring accuracy, insight, and relevance for senior leadership.
* Prepare clear and insightful commentary explaining performance drivers, variances, and forward-looking risks and opportunities.
* Support month-end, forecast, and budget processes with a strong commercial lens.
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Strong experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or management accounting, ideally within a services, technology, or managed services environment.
* Proven ability to analyse margins, profitability, and cost-to-serve in complex, contract-based businesses.
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills (including DCF modelling).
* Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
* Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance audiences.
