This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a confident and compassionate midwife who thrives in an acute setting and is passionate about delivering safe, personalised and high-quality intrapartum care.
As Delivery Suite Coordinator, you will provide visible, clinical leadership across the labour ward, ensuring:
* Safe and effective operational management of the delivery suite
* Real-time workforce coordination and escalation management
* Maintenance of safe staffing levels and skill mix
* Oversight of clinical acuity and risk
* Escalation of concerns in line with maternity safety frameworks
The post holder will be required to work shifts 07:45 – 20:15 or 19:45 – 08:15 including weekends.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Coordinate activity across delivery suite and triage.
* Lead emergency responses and clinical escalation.
* Support staff wellbeing and promote a positive safety culture.
* Ensure accurate documentation and incident reporting.
* Contribute to audits, guideline implementation and service development.
* Support compliance with national maternity safety initiatives.

Job responsibilities
We are looking for a midwife who:
* Is a registered Midwife with substantial post‑registration experience.
* Demonstrates strong clinical decision‑making skills.
* Is confident managing complex and rapidly changing situations.
* Is committed to safety, governance and quality improvement.
* Will be calm under pressure, highly organised, and passionate about supporting both families and staff.
Person Specification
Education
* Registered Midwife with a valid UK NMC Pin.
* Evidence of continual professional development.
* Masters level qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
* Newborn Advanced Life Support trained.
Knowledge
* Proficient in clinical skills such as cannulation, venepuncture and suturing.
* Clinically credible with sound knowledge base.
* Able to act in a clinical and managerial role to support and advise others in delivering clinical care.
Experience
* Extensive Midwifery experience in all areas of maternity.
* Evidence of teaching and mentoring.
Skills
* Demonstrate leadership skills, knowledge and experience to enhance effective maternity care.
