Field Service Engineer
We are working with a leading specialist in intelligent drive technology and systems who are looking to appoint a Field Service Engineer on a permanent, full-time basis.
Our client provides innovative solutions across multiple industries, including oil and gas, energy, mining, mechanical engineering, ship technology, rail, and commercial vehicles. Based in Croydon, they support customers across the UK and Ireland, delivering new build solutions in partnership with OEMs, as well as a full range of aftermarket services – from spare parts supply and repairs to major overhauls and field service support.
This position is home-based with travel to client sites across the UK, Ireland, and internationally.
Key Responsibilities as a Field Service Engineer:
Conduct diagnostics, repairs, and major overhauls at customer or third-party facilities
Provide technical support to sales staff on marine product applications
Ensure tooling and equipment meet calibration standards
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, identifying and reporting potential business opportunities
Assist customers in minimising equipment downtime
Complete service reports and documentation in line with company standards
Represent the business professionally at customer sites worldwide
Suitability as a Field Service Engineer:
Strong service and engineering background
Marine engineering experience (Royal Navy, Merchant Navy, ship crews, dry docks, etc.)
Electrical and mechanical engineering expertise
High voltage experience (electrical motors & inverters)
Knowledge of electronic control systems
Full UK driving licence
Package on Offer for the Field Service Engineer:
Salary: £50,000 – £75,000 (DOE)
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 41 per week
Bonus: Annual performance bonus (pro-rated in first year)
Holidays: 25 days per year (pro-rated on joining)
Pension: 3% employee contribution, 6% employer contribution
