Call: 01924 512466 Email: midyorks.erostering@nhs.net marked for their attention About The Role The post-holder will be joining a small but highly skilled and vital team of the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. The eRostering Practitioner role is well embedded within the team structure. This current opportunity is arising as a result of a restructure and expansion of the team to enable us to take on more ambitious improvement and benefits work within the organisation; in which the post-holder is expected to play a crucial role. They will provide training, system and rostering focus to the transformation and benefits activities of implementing electronic rostering. This role requires an ability to engage the Trust workforce to continue to build on the understanding and adaptation to the effective use of electronic rostering including bank staffing, to ensure the opportunities and benefits of using this system are fully realised. In order to achieve this, the post holder will have system oversight of the electronic rostering system, investigate, analyse and report on roster efficiency and other bespoke reporting as required. They will use these insights to support the evolution and optimisation of the use of the eRostering application, through training delivery and introduction of new system features, in order to drive benefits at local, divisional and Trustwide levels. This role would also be considered as a secondment opportunity. Main duties Highlights of the main duties are outlined below, for a more extensive overview, please see the attached job description. Responsible for analysing unit data in conjunction with Unit Managers and other relevant staff to gain an in depth understanding of service requirements such as shift demands, safe staffing levels, skill requirements and finalise the setup of rosters. Reviewing key performance indicators and recommending corrective actions where necessary. Responsible for the co-ordination, collection and analysis of data from relevant service leaders, managers and directors, challenging and discussing rationales for shift patterns to enable service re-design to enact and promote change as appropriate and in conjunction with the eRoster Manager. To configure in the system and translate to system users highly complex rules, personal and shift patterns in the electronic rostering system. Problem solve and negotiate options and solutions in a way that will assist electronic roster users in the adaptation to electronic rostering. Responsible for the analysis of live rosters, Key Performance Indicators and recommend corrective actions relating to rules/ patterns etc., to optimise system use. To be the point of contact for all Trust staff for using the system. To escalate issues to the eRoster Manager in a timely manner. Responsible for providing advanced technical expertise of the systems and analysis tools used. Sharing expertise with team colleagues to promote the development of knowledge within the team. To identify and promote best practice in roster creation and ensure rosters consistently adhere to deadlines, best practice and meet the required quality standards. Responsible for developing, scheduling and implementing pro-active technical support to system users and provide system training and ongoing system and roster support to both team colleagues and end users Essential Person Specification Requirements Highlights of the essential person specification are outlined below, for a more extensive overview, please see the attached person specification. Demonstrate expertise working with electronic rostering systems Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. Advanced level of experience of delivering training on e-rostering systems within NHS Advanced level of experience analysing and reporting highly complex data Experience of leading service development IT knowledge Microsoft Office packages incl, word, excel, outlook Demonstrable analytical, judgemental and problem-solving skills Training and presentation skills Ability to work to deadlines Ability to act on own initiative and be pro-active Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to challenge and deliver highly contentious information where there may be barriers to acceptance using empathy and providing reassurance Demonstrable ability to solve highly complex problems using knowledge of roster structure and electronic rostering system on the spot in the training room Excellent understanding of budgets and establishments Be part of MY team We are an acute trust caring for over one million people in Wakefield and Kirklees.
