Working Hours
1. 30 hours per week
2. Working 5 days out of 7 (includes weekends)
3. Must be fully flexible between 7:00am – 10:00pm
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting a Domestic Assistant to join a busy healthcare environment in Newry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
4. Cleaning and sanitising wards, corridors, and clinical areas
5. Maintaining high standards of infection control and hygiene
6. Safe handling and disposal of waste, including clinical waste
7. Cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, and communal areas
8. Operating cleaning equipment and using appropriate cleaning materials
9. Ensuring all areas are kept clean, tidy, and hazard-free
10. Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and hygiene products
11. Following all hospital health and safety procedures
Essential Requirements
12. Must be able to comply with uniform policy at all times
13. Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings
14. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
15. Good attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
16. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

17. Previous experience in a domestic, cleaning, or healthcare setting
18. Knowledge of infection prevention and control procedures
