EQUANS are recruiting for a Groundworker to be based in Belfast. This is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
General Overview
The Groundworker is responsible for preparing construction sites for building work. This includes a variety of tasks such as laying foundations, installing drainage systems, and constructing temporary and permanent access roads. The role is critical to the successful commencement and completion of construction projects, ensuring that all groundwork is performed to high standards of quality and safety.
Key Accountabilities
* Clear and prepare construction sites by removing debris, vegetation, and existing structures.
* Lay and level foundations for buildings, ensuring precise measurements and alignment.
* Install and maintain drainage systems, including pipes, manholes, and stormwater management systems.
* Construct temporary and permanent access roads and pathways.
* Set up and dismantle temporary structures, such as site offices and storage units.
* Mix and pour concrete for foundations, footpaths, and other structures.
* Operate a variety of machinery, including excavators, compactors, and concrete mixers.
* Follow construction plans and blueprints to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
* Comply with health and safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
* Collaborate with other construction professionals, including engineers, architects, and site managers, to ensure project milestones are met.
* Any other reasonable management request.

Who are we looking for?
Qualifications or Required Experience:
* Relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Groundworking or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in groundworking within the construction industry.
* Proficiency in operating groundworking machinery and tools, and qualified (with relevant CPCS accreditation for each relevant plant item), depending on requirements.
* Good understanding of construction plans and blueprints.
* Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in construction.
* Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour.
* Valid CSR (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
* Full UK/NI driving licence
