Overview

Join to apply for the Trackside IT Systems Technician role at MoneyGram Haas F1 Team. 2025 sees MoneyGram Haas F1 Team celebrate its tenth season in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. We are here to challenge the competition and grow as a team. The trackside IT System Technician will report to the Trackside IT Manager (or their designee) and be based in Banbury, UK.

This position focuses on the deployment, support and development of trackside IT systems to ensure best-in-class IT delivery for the company and its users.


Key Responsibilities

* Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
* Deploy, support and pack away trackside IT systems at all race and test events, maintaining maximum uptime and reliability, following checklists and monitoring throughout events.
* Plan and perform upgrades and changes to infrastructure during and outside the racing season, adhering to change control and risk management.
* Provide 1st to 3rd line technical support to users at the track and factory, ensuring SLAs and targets are met.
* Maintain and troubleshoot the trackside network (LAN, WAN and WLAN).
* Support server hardware, storage platforms and security appliances.
* Support and administer Windows-based services such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
* Support, administer and develop virtualization platforms.
* Support F1-specific hardware and software at track and factory.
* Manage trackside inventory, stock levels, forecasts and procurement.
* Complete reports in a timely manner and ensure documentation is kept up to date.
* Adhere to IT and wider business processes and policies; follow all safety regulations at all venues.
* Handle other duties as assigned by the Trackside IT Manager or their designee.


Qualifications

* Education and Work Experience: GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required. Further education including a BSc or MIS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience, is preferred.
* Typically requires at least 2–3 years’ experience in the IT field.
* Exposure to a racing environment is preferred; working in an international environment is desirable.


Specialized Knowledge And Skills

* Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
* Experience in a similar technical position, ideally in motorsport or other high-pressure environments.
* Customer-oriented mindset with experience in user support as well as infrastructure development and troubleshooting.
* Ability to work independently to strict deadlines and as part of a team; quick thinking and adaptability under pressure.
* Self-driven with motivation to excel and a willingness to continuously learn and develop skills.
* Collaborative approach and ability to integrate within a team at all levels.
* Positive can-do attitude and willingness to help others.


Equipment And Applications

* Solid understanding of Ethernet networking, switching, routing, network installations and troubleshooting. CCNA or equivalent certifications are an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server, desktop environments, virtualization and Active Directory.
* Working knowledge of McLaren Applied Technology software (Atlas, System Monitor, Atlas Data Server, SQL Race) is advantageous.


Work Environment And Physical Demands

An ability to work and prioritize within a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment while maintaining a methodical approach is essential. The role requires extensive international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends. Physical demands may include lifting up to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. The role involves a fast-paced environment with machinery, race cars and related equipment; compliance with Health and Safety policies and applicable legislation is required.
