SEMH Teaching Assistant, Wakefield - Full Time (September 2025)
Are you an experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant (TA) looking for a full-time role? Were working with a primary school in Wakefield who are seeking an experienced SEMH TA to join their team from this academic year starting as soon as possible (September 2025) on a supply basis.
This role will focus on supporting children as they reintegrate into school life after the summer break. You will play a crucial part in helping pupils settle back into routines, manage their behaviour, and re-engage positively with learning.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Assist in the development of tailored behaviour support strategies.
* Provide a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
* Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to track progress and adapt support as required.
* Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent support.

1. Proven experience supporting behaviour and SEMH needs in a school setting.
