Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor (Preston, PR1)
Are you passionate about supporting learners with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils in Preston (PR1) who are outside of mainstream education.
* Location: Preston, PR1 (with potential travel to surrounding areas)
* Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
* Hours: Flexible
We work in partnership with local authorities to deliver high-quality education and support to pupils with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and emotional or behavioural challenges. As an SEN Tutor, you will play a key role in providing personalised learning experiences that empower each learner to thrive.
1. Deliver engaging and adaptable 1:1 tuition in core subjects (English, Maths, and Science) or Functional Skills, tailored to meet the unique needs of each learner.
2. Develop and implement individualised learning plans, incorporating appropriate strategies to support SEN learners.
3. Monitor and assess student progress, providing detailed feedback to parents, carers, and local authorities.
4. Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages confidence and independence.
Minimum Requirements:
* A recognised teaching qualification (such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) or extensive experience in SEN tuition.
* Experience working with learners with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), and other learning difficulties.
* Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching strategies to support diverse learning styles.
* Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate or willingness to obtain one.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
