Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Mentor
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a vital role in helping students develop positive behaviour, resilience, and confidence. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties to engage positively in their learning
* Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage motivation and self‑belief
* Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to implement effective behaviour management strategies
* Promoting emotional regulation, positive communication, and conflict resolution skills
* Creating a safe and inclusive environment where every student can succeed
What We're Looking For
To be successful in a Behaviour Mentor role, you should have:
* Previous experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or care setting
* Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting behaviour
* Confidence when working with students with additional or special educational needs (SEN)
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
