About the Role
We are currently seeking a Level 1 Loss Prevention Officer to join our dedicated security team in Bury. The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting company assets, preventing loss, and ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers.
As a loss prevention officer you’ll be the first line of defence against theft and shrinkage, maintaining a visible and professional presence across the site while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor CCTV and conduct regular floor patrols to identify suspicious activity.
* Deter theft and anti-social behaviour through proactive engagement and observation.
* Apprehend and manage suspected offenders in line with company policy, legislation and law.
* Complete detailed and accurate incident reports.
* Liaise with store management, security teams, and local authorities as required.
* Support Health & Safety and emergency procedures when necessary.
* Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
* Previous experience in retail security or loss prevention preferred but not essential.
* Excellent observational and communication skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle conflict situations professionally.
* Flexibility to work a 44-hour weekly rota, including weekends and evenings.
* A proactive, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.
