Claims Specialist - Commercial Property

Are you a Claims Handler with experience in handling cross-class claims, especially in commercial property claims?

Are you able to build strong, lasting relationships with clients and secure the best possible claims outcomes? If so, then we have the perfect opportunity for you!

This role offers the flexibility of being based in Leeds, with a hybrid working arrangement that allows you to work both virtually and from our local Aon office.

About the role

As a Claims Specialist in the Technical Referral team, you will manage a range of claims across an allocated portfolio of commercial clients. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Ensuring timely claim intimation to insurers, establishing coverage, and supporting clients through disclosure or data gathering.
2. Coordinating claims from FNOL to settlement, advocating for the client to protect their interests.
3. Providing expert guidance, technical analysis, and support to facilitate smooth claim progression.
4. Liaising with insurers, loss adjusters, and stakeholders including internal contacts.
5. Managing electronic claim files accurately, processing correspondence and diaries within SLA.
6. Attending claims review meetings and producing claims experience reports as required.
7. Supporting colleagues with technical referrals related to coverage or quantum queries.


Skills and experience for success

* Strong technical experience, preferably in Commercial Property claims.
* Ability to interpret policy wordings and challenge insurer decisions when appropriate.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Willingness to mentor and support junior team members.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Negotiation skills.
