Job summary
The post holder will be the Clinical lead for Every Minute Matters (EMM) programme across University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. This is a Continuous Quality improvement programme utilising the Patient First methodology ensuring staff and patient engagement in solutions to an improvement of patient flow throughout their hospital stay and patient experience of discharge.
As the Senior Professional lead the post holder will work with all members of the multi professional team to roll out the EMM programme and other related specific improvement projects supported through to delivery and will be responsible for ensuring processes are in place to ensure embedding and sustainability of the changes are maintained consistently across UHBW.
This is a Trust wide role which requires you to build rapport and clinical credibility with senior clinical and managerial colleagues both internally to the Trust and externally .
This is expected to be a development opportunity for an experienced practitioner with project management skills. You will be supported in your Trust wide role by both the Deputy Chief Operating Officer and the Deputy Chief Nurse.
Main duties of the job
1. Be the clinical lead for Every Minute Matters (EMM) programme within UHBW hospitals. This will include leading the ongoing roll out of the programme and being responsible for ensuring processes are in place to embed and ensure sustainability of the changes are maintained consistently across UHBW.
2. Provide expert clinical knowledge and advice to the Trust Proactive Hospitals patient flow and discharge workstreams.
3. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the programme and actively horizon scan for opportunities for innovation and development to further enhance patient flow and patient experience throughout the Patient's journey in Hospital.
4. Provide senior clinical leadership and undertake project management responsibilities within the scope of Every Minute Matters portfolio.
5. Be an advocate for quality Improvement and will work in partnership with the Clinical Operations and Integrated Discharge service teams to optimise all opportunities to improve patient flow and the EMM ethos.
6. You will be joining a Multi professional team who are passionate about using quality improvement to improve patients stay in hospital and reduce delays to discharge. The current EMM focuses include: use of discharge lounges, Proactive Board Rounds including SAFER principles, Criteria to Reside, timely and weekend discharges, 'Tap to Transfer' and Criteria Led Discharges.

7. Professional Clinical Registration: Registered Nurse/ Midwife / Allied Health professional NMC for Nurses / Midwives or HCPC for AHP's (E)
8. Have significant clinical and operational experience and evidence of commitment to continuing managerial and professional development (E)
9. Educated to Master's degree in a related subject ( clinical or management) or hold an equivalent level professional qualification or be working towards. (E)
