Pure Resourcing Solutions are supporting a well-established, international organisation in the search for a Senior Buyer to join their procurement function. This is a key hire for the business, offering the opportunity to take ownership of strategic purchasing activity, influence supplier performance, and play a key role in driving commercial value across the supply chain.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you’ll lead on sourcing strategy and supplier engagement across a defined category base. Alongside managing complex negotiations, you’ll help shape procurement processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and provide guidance to more junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead sourcing activity, from supplier identification through to contract negotiation
* Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers, ensuring consistency in quality, cost and service levels
* Contribute to the development and delivery of procurement strategy
* Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency
* Oversee purchasing activity to ensure continuity of supply and effective stock management
* Monitor supplier performance, resolving any issues relating to quality or delivery
* Analyse market trends and spend data to support informed decision-making
* Support and mentor junior members of the procurement team
* Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align procurement activity with wider business goals
* Ensure all procurement processes meet internal policies and regulatory requirements
About You
* Established experience within a procurement or senior buying role
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering value through negotiation
* Confident managing supplier relationships and influencing outcomes
* Experience contributing to or shaping procurement strategy
* Comfortable working with ERP/MRP systems and analysing data
* Highly organised with a proactive, solutions-led approach
* CIPS qualification (or working towards) would be beneficial
