We are currently seeking a passionate Chartered Psychologist to lead the newly formed Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) team within our substance misuse services in LLR. This innovative service offers psycho-social interventions as an alternative to custodial sentences for individuals in the criminal justice system. Our approach is psychology-led, focusing on tailored treatment plans that utilize evidence-based interventions. Join us in delivering high-quality, bespoke support to those who need it most!
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will: Provide clinical guidance, training, and leadership to Senior Assistant and Assistant Psychologists. Collaborate with the Clinical Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist to enhance innovative approaches. Oversee the systematic governance of the Leicestershire MHTR service alongside operational colleagues. Offer practical advice on evidence-based psychological interventions to colleagues and local agencies. Inspire and develop your team, fostering psychological formulation skills and a trauma-informed approach. Manage a small caseload of service users with complex needs, delivering specialist assessments and therapies. Influence the strategic direction of the service by building strong professional links with other providers. Explore ways to integrate broader issues like housing and employment into the treatment process. Collaborate with our national team to develop psychological and psycho-social approaches across services.
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
We are looking for someone who: Holds a current registration with the Health and Social Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist. Possesses a doctorate in your professional specialism and has a proven track record in delivering psychological services. Has experience leading and supervising clinical staff, ideally within substance misuse services. Exhibits excellent communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to the Recovery Agenda. Formal training in supervision is desirable but not essential.
