Calibration Engineer
Location: Bradford, BD4
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Salary: Up to £32,000
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role
We are recruiting ahands‑on Calibration Engineerto join a well‑established engineering organisation in Bradford. This is a practical, shop‑floor‑focused role, suited to someone with strong experiencecalibrating machines and measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.
You will take ownership of on‑site calibration activities, ensuring all machinery, measuring tools and test equipment are accurately calibrated, compliant and fit for purpose. Alongside the practical work, you will support the Quality function by maintaining calibration records and ensuring audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Hands‑On Calibration & Engineering
* Carry outhands‑on calibration of machines, measuring and test equipmentacross the production environment
* Perform on‑time calibration in line with internal schedules and external standards
* Fault‑find, adjust and verify equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
* Measure and record production samples as required
* Support engineers and production teams with calibration‑related issues
Calibration Control & Quality Compliance
* Maintain and update the site calibration database with accurate records
* Coordinate and manageexternal calibration services and suppliers
* Ensure full traceability of calibrated equipment for audits
* Produce scrap reports and maintain calibration and quality documentation
* Work in line with the company Quality Management System (includingTS16949 or similar standards)
Safety, Compliance & General Duties
* Adhere to all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements
* Identify and respond to H&S concerns within the work area
* Carry out routine visits to production areas
* Undertake any other reasonable duties aligned with the role and business needs
What We're Looking For
* Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship trained (or equivalent hands‑on engineering background)
* Experience in a hands‑on calibration / metrology rolewithin manufacturing or engineering
* Proven experience calibratingmachines and measurement equipmenton the shop floor
* Strong working knowledge of calibration equipment such asmicrometers, calipers, plug gauges, etc.
* Understanding ofTS16949 or similar quality systems
* IOSH Working Safely (or similar) - advantageous
* Excellent attention to detail with accurate record‑keeping skills
