HSE Manager
Main purpose of the job
To develop and implement Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability best practices, ensuring compliance with current legislation, codes of practice, and guidance. The HSE Manager works proactively with managers to establish safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues and visitors. They support the AGM to ensure the plant meets Artifex Interior Systems' HSES requirements and complies with relevant standards and legislation, engaging with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Additionally, they focus on continuous improvement in safety, sustainability, and environmental performance. They lead and coach the site team, providing guidance and support, and are responsible for gathering HSES data, evaluating management systems, initiating corrective actions, and reporting progress. All procedures must align with Artifex standards.
Main missions and results
1. Support the HSES Director and assist the HSE function with action plans, meetings, and technical support.
2. Support ISO14001 / ISO45001 internal audits and have working knowledge of ISO standards and ISO50001.
3. Review audits against Artifex standards and SIP during integrated audits.
4. Prepare HSE communications, alerts, and promote good behaviors.
5. Track audit points, investigation reports, and roadmaps, and report findings.
6. Conduct accident/incident analysis, identify trends, and perform root cause analysis.
7. Generate process statistical data reports for management.
8. Create and manage continuous improvement plans.
9. Ensure document control according to standards.
10. Support HSE committee meetings and define management system requirements.
11. Ensure local management systems meet HSES standards and customer requirements.
12. Document the local management system and provide feedback to the HSES Director.
13. Report audit results and ensure corrective actions are closed timely.
14. Advise management on measures to improve system effectiveness.
15. Train and coach management to meet ISO standards and other requirements.
16. Assist in preparing for third-party audits and ensure deviations are addressed.
17. Stay informed on legislation changes and update legal registers.
18. Participate in management reviews and report on HSE status.
19. Implement HSES programs and coach the management team.
20. Maintain procedural knowledge and ensure adherence, setting a personal example.
21. Communicate clearly, support employees, and escalate concerns appropriately.
22. Manage HSES induction for employees and visitors, and report incident statistics.
Preferred Skills and Experience
* Experience in automotive or production sectors as HSE Engineer or Manager.
* Document management expertise.
* Degree in chemistry, machinery, mechanics, or related fields.
* Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001, HSE legislation, and customer standards.
* Fluent in English; proficient in MS Office.
* Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and learn continuously.
* Leadership skills with influencing capabilities.
* Problem-solving and continuous improvement drive.
* Integrity and commitment to doing the right thing.
