Are you passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential? We’re recruiting Learning Support Assistants for a well-respected SEN school in Pontefract that supports pupils aged 5–16 with autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior SEN experience, or a graduate from Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Education or related subjects who wants to gain hands-on school experience. What You’ll Be Doing
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
Assisting with learning, behaviour support, and emotional regulation
Helping pupils develop life skills, confidence, and independence
Creating a safe, structured and engaging learning environment
Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and therapists to support EHCP outcomes
What We’re Looking For
Experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor or similar
An understanding of autism, SEMH, ADHD or learning disabilities
A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to full-time, term-time work (Mon–Fri)
