We’re working with a range of weing and well-managed secondary schools across the Wigan area, all seeking experienced Cover Supervisors and Early Career Teachers to step into flexible, rewarding roles starting this September. Your new role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You’ll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and ensuring students remain engaged and on task. This is a great opportunity to build strong relationships with schools and gain valuable experience—especially for ECTs looking to broaden their classroom exposure.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supervising lessons across a range of subjects using provided resources.
2. Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
3. Supporting students with their learning and encouraging participation.
4. Ensuring a calm, respectful, and productive learning environment.
5. Providing feedback to teaching staff on student progress and engagement.

We’re looking for individuals who:
6. Have previous experience working in a secondary school classroom—either as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, HLTA, or Teacher.
7. Are Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain experience and build confidence before securing a permanent role.
8. Are confident, adaptable, and able to manage behaviour effectively.
9. Can build rapport quickly and maintain a professional classroom presence.
