Job Title: Fabricator / Maintenance Engineer (Temporary Cover)
Location: Kidderminster
Reporting to: Production Manager
Shift Pattern: Day Shift (3 days per week)
Contract Type: Temporary (Sick Leave Cover)
Hours: 24 hours per week (3 days, 8 hours per day)
Working Days: Flexible - any 3 days between Monday and Thursday
Start Date: Immediate
Overview:
We are looking to employ a skilled and hands-on Fabrication / Maintenance Engineer on a temporary basis in Kidderminster to cover for an engineer currently on sick leave. This is a 24-hour per week role, working 3 days (8 hours per day), with flexibility on which days are worked between Monday and Thursday. The position is available for an immediate start.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the operation of factory equipment to ensure production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Carry out maintenance and repair of factory equipment, including but not limited to:
Resin injection machines
Resin and gel spray equipment
Extraction and ventilation systems
2. Assist in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of jigs, fixtures, and tooling
3. Support project development and contribute to improvements in tooling and production processes
4. Manage the engineering area, ensuring:
All equipment is in safe working condition
Tooling is available and well-maintained
The workspace remains clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards
5. Work closely with the Production Manager to minimise downtime and support efficient, safe production operations
Requirements:
6. Proven experience in fabrication and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or production environment
7. Strong hands-on engineering skills, including troubleshooting and repair
8. Ability to work independently and take initiative
9. Safety-conscious, reliable, and well-organised
10. Comfortable in both workshop and production floor settings
