TXM Recruit are working with an established Engineering company in Crewe to support with the hire of a Test & Verification Engineer.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Design Assurance Lead, you will work as part of the Engineering team to manage the testing and verification of products. In this role, you will be required to plan, conduct, and report on testing completed on products under development as well as provide advice and feedback to relevant stakeholders. You will also support current products with technical design changes and modifications as well as the development and test of new and innovative products for manufacture using new and emerging technologies to support the businesses growth plans.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Testing products for safety, capacities, compliance, and performance.
2. Write test plans for products under development to provide independence.
3. Perform high precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments.
4. Perform pre-production test sample assembly according to engineering drawings.
5. Examining and investigating specific aspects and components of products under investigation.
6. Work with 3rd party test houses to define and complete external testing
7. Work in collaboration with engineers across the development and engineering teams ( electronics, software and mechanical engineers) to produce cost-effective, reliable design solutions
8. Work within the New Product Development (NPD) gated process to successfully deliver products to the right specification and timeframes ensuring complete customer satisfaction
9. Undertake tasks in accordance with the engineering key performance indicators (quality, cost and delivery)
10. Perform qualification testing of products and validation of production test equipment specifications
11. Liaise with suppliers for tooling, component and sub-assembly requirements for pre-production samples
12. Assist with First-in-Class static and dynamic trials with customers
Role Requirements:
13. Knowledge of build and testing of signalling products
14. 2 years experience as a production test technician, product tester or similar role
15. Proficiency in testing procedures and protocols
16. Report writing and document analysis skills
17. Ability to work with data and numbers
18. Problem-solving skills and decisive knowledge of appropriate testing methods
19. Comfortable with industry-specific testing equipment and software
20. Knowledge of testing equipment maintenance and storage procedures
21. Working knowledge of Engineering design system (3D CAD packages)
22. Experience in product design lifecycle – from concept to introduction into manufacturing (ideally in safety critical industry)
