Overview
Engineering Buyer role at TieTalent. Responsible for developing supplier relationships, managing procurement processes, and supporting cost and delivery objectives.
Responsibilities
* Develop highly effective supplier relationships and innovative supply chains to meet quality, cost and on-time delivery requirements, and develop new suppliers as required to meet objectives and mitigate risk.
* Issue enquiries and obtain competitive quotations; evaluate in terms of quality, cost and delivery requirements.
* Negotiate prices and conditions to ensure the lowest cost of ownership for the business.
* Carry out supplier management via vendor appraisal/assessment and regular performance reviews to exploit opportunities and manage risk.
* Raise and resolve supplier non-conformances as appropriate.
* Resolve disputes and claims with suppliers regarding invoicing queries.
* Input and support the development of processes and procedures in response to business growth, cost initiatives, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Adhere to new and existing processes and procedures for procurement of goods and services.
* Provide data to support reporting of key performance indicators to the business.
* Maintain effective communication with key internal stakeholders.
* Challenge non-compliance with processes and drive continuous improvement.
* Work to create and promote a safe working environment.
* Expedite materials in line with delivery requirements of the business.
* Place indirect orders when necessary to maintain business functionality.
* Work closely with the warehouse team to complete stock movements as required.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and project timelines.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with production and engineering teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* At least 2 years' experience in purchasing at a similar level.
* Proven track record in negotiation and supplier relationship management.
* Experience using corporate ERP systems and reporting tools.
* Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
* Experience with Microsoft Outlook.
* CIPS qualification desirable but not essential.
