Due to continued growth, we are now recruiting a Senior Commercial Manager to join our infrastructure team based in Burton Upon Trent. The Senior Commercial Manager will oversee the financial and commercial aspects of the Infrastructure business.
This role involves estimating, bid writing, supporting Business Development, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and providing strong leadership to support profitable growth alongside the Operations Director.
Our Infrastructure team delivers M&E projects across sectors including Defence, Retail, Rail, Commercial, Industrial, and Healthcare, with project scopes ranging from small to large-scale initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers in line with company policies.
* Communicate contractual mechanisms and notifications to project teams and advise on contract administration.
* Ensure contractual obligations are met, managing amendments and disputes.
* Identify risks during tendering, document them, and develop mitigation plans.
* Support risk management at project and business levels.
* Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives.
* Monitor project costs to ensure completion within budget.
* Resolve project challenges, disputes, or issues as they arise.
* Manage project budgets, control costs, and prepare CVRs.
* Identify, cost, and agree on changes or variations promptly to secure entitlement.
* Meet financial targets and provide regular updates to senior management.
Skills and Experiences:
* Proven experience managing the commercial aspects of MEP projects.
* Minimum 5 years as a Commercial Manager.
* Experience with MEP building services, including LV & HV infrastructure, lighting, small power, data networks, HVAC, LTHW, and renewables (desirable).
* Excellent listening, questioning, and consulting skills.
* Strong people management abilities.
* Effective communication and networking skills at all levels.
Qualifications:
* Full UK driving license.
* Relevant degree or professional qualification.
* Membership of a recognized professional body (desirable).
