We’re looking for a Finance Manager - Management Accounts to join us in Bradford.
Working in a constantly changing, dynamic, fast paced and diverse environment, the Financial Manager is responsible for Management Accounting across companies within the Liberty Global footprint including Virgin Media. The role will suit a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. The successful candidate must be deadline focused with an aptitude for process improvement and simplification.
This role will have a particular focus on Opex and Cost Accounting.
What will you be doing?
1. Month-end activities:Perform accounting processes across the organisationPrepare journal entitiesPrepare analysis and provide insight into areas of focusWorking within internal reporting deadlinesMaking recommendations to improve and simplify processesLiaise with Senior Stakeholders and influence decision making across the organisation
2. Control:Implements an effective internal control frameworkPrepare balance sheet reconciliations, highlighting and resolving any issuesEnsuring compliance with SOx and other regulatory requirementsLiaising with auditors and providing evidence and supporting narrative as required
3. Process Improvement and AutomationEnsures work is performed efficientlyIdentified opportunities to improve & simplifies processesWorks collaboratively to standardise processesWorks with automation teams to automate processes
We tend to look for people with:
4. Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
5. Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
6. Experience of working within large corporate structures.
7. Strong excel and financial systems skills (eg. Oracle, Hyperion/HFM)
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to coach and develop others
9. Experience of working in a complex environment, delivering to deadlines
10. Experience of research into emerging / complex accounting or reporting issues
11. Qualified Accountant with Management Accounting, and/or audit experience
12. Assurance mindset – the ability to review accurately, but also to identify risks in processes and reconciliations and articulate/resolve/mitigate these as part of the monthly accounting cycle
13. Communicator - to provide clear and meaningful interpretation of analysis conducted. To be able to lead and control meetings with senior stakeholders
14. Customer Focused – to be able to understand finance and operational stakeholder’s needs and requirements in order to provide excellent customer service. To understand the correct balance between challenge and support of these stakeholders in order to raise both the profile and external perception of the team
15. Collaboration – working across internal and external teams in multiple locations to deliver improvements and best practice within the team
16. Self- motivated - Well-organised, adaptable and resilient. Responds to challenging priorities with a sense of urgency and pace. Ability to work under pressure
