We’re looking for a Projects & Land Agreements Manager to join our team! Contractually based out of our Portsmouth office, this is a 12-month fixed term contract role, working 37 hours per week with a minimum of 20% of this to be office based to promote collaboration and team working within the Asset team and other colleagues across the business.

Here’s the facts about the role:
As Projects & Land Agreements Manager you’ll act as a lead project manager for projects and initiatives throughout the Asset directorate! You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering improvements that enhance operational efficiency and overall effectiveness. Projects will include a variety of deliverables therefore you’ll have a broad skill set to support with both operational projects and business improvement projects.
From operational improvements to strategic acquisitions, you’ll support with initiatives that enhance efficiency, drive innovation, and support our long-term housing goals. You’ll take ownership of land and lease-related matters, ensuring our obligations as a lessee are met, and our commercial interests are protected. This is a unique opportunity to blend project management with property expertise in a role that reaches every corner of our organisation.
Within the role you’ll:
* Lead and deliver asset-related projects using structured methodologies, ensuring time, cost, and quality targets are met
* Manage project teams through matrix management, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs across construction, IT, finance, and leadership
* Drive and support change initiatives, fostering a positive culture in line with our values and using robust change management tools
* Collate, analyse, and present management information to identify performance improvements and support strategic decisions
* Oversee lease management and land-related activities, ensuring compliance, protecting commercial interests, and preparing assets for sale
* Act as first point of contact and liaise with key stakeholders including landlords, legal advisors, and other third parties to maintain strong relationships and ensure service delivery
* Maximise income from non-dwelling assets through effective agreement management and invoicing
* Ensure governance processes are followed for land transactions, securing necessary approvals and consulting stakeholders
* Provide leadership and mentorship within the Asset team, promoting collaboration and high performance
* Represent the Asset function across the organisation, acting as a positive ambassador and driving continuous improvement
This role requires a strong foundation in project and programme management. You’ll have demonstrable experience in leading transformation projects within construction or maintenance environments, with a solid understanding of land & lease management to protect the organisational interests. It’s vital you have an understanding of the social housing sector, including regulatory frameworks and emerging government policy.
To succeed in this role you’ll have vibrant & effective leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across a range of audiences and will have the ability to engage stakeholders – maintaining strong relationships so we’re able to deliver projects successfully and at pace. You’ll also have strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to understand data. While this role wont directly line manage, you’ll act as part of the Asset leadership team and will steer project teams, therefore strong interpersonal skills and a people focus are essential for this role.
As this role involves travel, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is a requirement. Business mileage will be paid.
