Are you an individual with experience of conducting interviews, drafting witness statements and gathering evidence to support with complex investigations? We are looking to recruit two Desk Based Investigators to join our Investigations directorate. Applications are welcome from a wide range of experience and expertise. This is a hybrid role based in our Birmingham office.
What will I be doing?
You will sit within the Investigations directorate to support and assist a team of Investigation Officers, who are at the forefront of investigating reports about misconduct. You will be responsible for a range of activities and your key tasks will include:
* Conducting both witness and respondent interviews either remotely or when required on-site across England and Wales.
* Draft witness statements and other communications to the highest standards of quality to support complex and/or technical investigations
* Obtaining evidence from external stakeholders by a variety of methods.
As part of your role, you will be expected to independently conduct interviews draft witness statements and undertake other evidence gathering activities. You will need to be flexible and be able to work to competing priorities within defined timescales. Your primary focus will be on supporting Investigation Officers and taking direction from them on what is required from you. You will assist them to manage a varied caseload and support high priority investigations.
The team
We investigate reports and complaints about solicitors and others we regulate. These investigations arise from behaviour both within and outside of practice, will vary in length and complexity and we apply a range of factors to decide on what action we should take. * Experience of successfully working with high case holdings, where ongoing review of priorities is required dependent on complexity and demands.

* Experience of working well under direction and autonomously and collaborating as part of a functional or cross functional team.

The role is hybrid and will be based from our office in Birmingham 1-2 days a week, and from home the rest of the week.
This role may require occasional travel to conduct on-site interviews; such travel will be arranged in advance and take place in the normal course of work.
