Required to start April 2026, at the beginning of the summer term, we are looking for a dynamic, energetic and really good class teacher to join our Key Stage 2 team to cover maternity leave. The position is full-time and we expect it to be in Year 4.
Appledore School is a one form entry school, which means big to have enough people to wear all the ‘hats’ required yet small enough for all of us to know each other and the children really well. As a result, Appledore is a warm and friendly school where staff prioritise supporting and looking after both children and one another alike.
In addition to a class teacher, all classes are supported by a full-time teaching assistant, a specialist art teacher, a reading champion (who supports all children in Key Stage 2 to develop a passion for reading) and a specialist music and drama, French and RE teacher who covers PPA. Due to our very low turnover of staff, our staff are very experienced and highly skilled.
We have worked hard to provide exciting opportunities for our children, through the design and delivery of our curriculum, to meet their ever-changing needs and interests and take full advantage of our wonderful school site and locality on a river and near the sea.
