Role overview:
The Application and Product Security Senior Analyst (Development) should have knowledge of various development environments and toolchains, primarily centered around GitLab. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining internal applications and integrations to support automated security programs, with ongoing efforts to improve automation and scalability.
The Senior Analyst will support development and operational activities, including managing internal tools for automation, enhancing security processes, supporting code repositories, static and dynamic code analysis, troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, and mentoring junior staff. A basic understanding of complex IT systems, embedded devices, applications, cloud systems, and current security standards and protocols is essential.
Key responsibilities:
* Design authority for projects within the Application and Product Security portfolio, from conception through development.
* Support enterprise product strategy and development of product roadmaps.
* Review system performance, security, and efficiency, recommending improvements.
* Build tools and processes for engineering teams using software development best practices.
* Manage code through DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, with thorough GitLab usage.
* Support security testing efforts and automate security testing processes.
* Mentor team members and act as an escalation point for security issues.
* Participate in regional and global activities supporting security initiatives.
Qualifications for success:
* Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields preferred.
* At least 3 years of experience in development and deployment, including embedded firmware and cloud services.
* Proficiency with GitLab and source code management.
* Strong understanding of development tools, processes, and security best practices.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across teams.
Additional qualifications:
* Experience with SCM solutions like SVN, CVS.
* Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Tanzu.
* Certifications in development methodologies preferred.
* Experience with embedded systems, web applications, Linux kernel, and object-oriented programming (Python preferred, C/C++, Java, .NET, Go beneficial).
