The role
Orbit is delighted to announce that we are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Project Lead to join the team. In this vital role, you will assist the Head of Health and Safety in implementing and maintaining a Group-wide Health and Safety Management System to ensure legal compliance.
Day-to-day, you will also provide project and systems leadership to continuously improve the H&S infrastructure, systems, compliance, audit, assurance, and competency. You should have proven experience working with H&S management systems (accident reporting, lone worker monitoring, grey fleet management) and experience in Social Housing.
What you'll achieve
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Manage and develop the Group Health & Safety Assurance Coordinator.
* Manage, collate, and submit Orbit’s annual ROSPA Sector Award - Public Services and Local Government.
* Update existing and develop new e-learning and classroom training, delivering training internally.
* Collate data, perform statistical analysis, and produce monthly and quarterly health & safety performance reports.
* Implement and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and guidance, highlighting updates to the Health & Safety Manager.
* Support other departments on H&S related issues when necessary.
What you'll bring
Essential skills:
* Experience effectively delivering and monitoring H&S activity across multiple sites.
* Experience developing H&S Management Systems.
* Willingness and ability to travel with own transport.
* Excellent presentation skills.
* Management and coaching experience (desirable).
