Overview
You will join an enthusiastic and friendly department of Ophthalmology which is an integral part of the Division of Surgery at the QEH.
You will ensure the continued delivery of high-quality care to patients within the trust and contribute to the further development of the Ophthalmology service.
Clinical Duties
* Average 8.0 clinical sessions per week, including laser lists, IVT lists, medical retina and glaucoma clinics.
* Two SPA/administration sessions per week and the opportunity to attend regular regional ophthalmic teaching sessions.
* Participate in the out-of-hours on‑call rota as first on‑call, supported by a consultant second on‑call covering seven days a week.
* Participate in regular teaching and audit sessions and supervise trainees in clinics and theatre when necessary.
* Perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances essential for continuity of patient care.
* Additional managerial responsibilities may be required to be accommodated within the timetable.
