Workshop Supervisor
You will be responsible for the productivity and overall efficiencies of a busy workshop.
Your remit will be to oversee the day to day activity and you will be ensuring that Jobs are allocated via a card system to the Vehicle Engineers.
Making sure that the work has been carried to the correct specifications and within the time frames
Liaising with the Parts Department to ensure the correct equipment is being used to carry out the repairs
This role would suit someone who has had experience of working in a similar role within a HGV or Council Fleet workshop environment and has good commercial vehicle knowledge from a technical perspective.
What are critical are that you have very good people skills. You will be liaising with internal and external Stakeholders, sometime in a high pressured environment, so a cool head is required at all times,
The type of vehicles worked on range from heavy goods vehicles (HGV's), road tankers, gritters, RCV's Refuge vehicles and road sweepers.
The Fitters under your guidance are highly skilled. They will be looking after a mix of Diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles, it is therefore important that you are up to date with modern vehicle technologies
Your workshop will be responsible for;
Routine (and preventative) maintenance
MOT preparation
Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
6 (or 8) weekly inspections
Correction of running defects
Chassis and fabrication work
Hydraulics and pneumatics
Improvement of vehicle standards
Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
Ideally you will be fully qualified (City &am
