About the Role
Within this varied role, you’ll manage a broad portfolio of business change and IT/systems projects, working effectively in a matrix management approach within our organisational value streams.
We’re seeking an experienced and qualified Project Manager who is able to manage issues, build relationships with team members and direct tasks in order to deliver projects to required standards of quality, within agreed budgets and timescales. You’ll be comfortable dealing with projects of different scale and complexity and have experience across the full project life cycle.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Perform day-to-day control of a project including preparing and presenting progress/issues/budget to the appropriate steering committee.
2. Provide estimates of workload and costs for activities and tasks within a project or sub-project.
3. Ensure that projects meet user requirements in accordance with agreed standards of quality and service.
4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within each of the business areas that their projects cover.
5. Work effectively with third party organisations to agree responsibilities for deliverables and track progress against milestones.
6. Contribute to good customer service by ensuring the seamless transition of a project from initiation, through detailed planning and design, to implementation.
7. Provide support, guidance and assistance to those less experienced to meet project objectives.
8. Be aware of or be prepared to learn the main requirements of relevant legislation.
9. Occasionally assist with the analysis and documentation of business requirements.
10. Produce test strategies and test plans in conjunction with the users and test team.
11. Oversee user acceptance testing.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Criteria:
12. Experienced in delivering both business change and IT/systems projects within the financial services sector.
13. Capable of running large projects, with multiple workstreams.
14. Experienced in managing a range of projects, within a matrix organisation.
15. Full project management lifecycle experience (delivering to required standards of quality, within agreed budgets and timescales).
16. Great relationship management skills, capable of prioritising and influencing others regarding conflicting interests.
17. Assertive yet diplomatic in your dealings with others.
18. Ability to absorb and assimilate up to date technical and regulatory knowledge.
19. Able to communicate technical matters to a wider audience in a concise and clear way.
