Overview
We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. The role is hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation support in a mission-critical data center environment. You will apply electrical and mechanical skills to solve problems and help maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures. This position is based in our Sweden data center in Katrineholm. A valid EU driving license is required for this role.
Key responsibilities
* SAFETY: Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and actively promote a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, help remediate safety risks/issues with other teams. Own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
* ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE: Possess operational experience with electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS systems, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers.
* Operational tasks: Troubleshoot events within internal SLAs; take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.); supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
* Physical requirements: manual handling and lifting of equipment as needed; ability to work shifts (morning, late, night); on-call rotation for emergencies; work at heights, in noisy environments with ear protection; perform physical tasks during shifts.
A day in the life
* Monitor alarms and systems that manage power, cooling, and fire suppression in the data center.
* Coordinate vendor on-site work to ensure equipment is maintained and uptime is preserved.
* Support other teams and sites during events and planned works.
* Handle rack installations and power up equipment.
* Monitor and facilitate the handover of new equipment.
* Share knowledge and support new team members.
* Participate in event response drills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* High school or equivalent diploma
* 1 to 4 years of knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory; experience with mechanical room infrastructure (chillers, cooler units, fan controls) and backup generator systems
* Valid EU driving license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline; professional certification in Electrical, Mechanical or Controls engineering
* Experience in operations of critical facilities (Heavy Industry or Data Centers) with in-depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems and data center engineering
