Children's support worker

Job description
* Provide compassionate and effective support to children with diverse needs, including emotional and behavioural challenges, autism, and learning disabilities.
* Assist children in developing essential life skills and promoting their overall well-being.
* Implement care plans and behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs.
* Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all residents.
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, observations, and progress.
* Collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic care.
* Respond effectively to challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
* Uphold the highest standards of care and adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* A valid full driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for travel within the North East.
* Essential prior experience working within Residential Children's Homes and supporting children with childhood trauma.
* Flexibility to travel up to 1 hour to Gateshead, Sunderland, Newcastle, or Durham, and availability for both day and night shifts.
* A commitment to working a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
* Proof of valid Right to Work in the UK.
* Up-to-date mandatory training certificates, PMVA training, and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
* The ability to provide employment references covering the last 3 years.

* Competitive remuneration with excellent hourly rates: £15.35 for Day shifts (08:00 - 20:00) and £16.88 for Waking Nights (20:00 - 08:00).
* A favourable flat rate of £57.02 for Sleep-in shifts, following a specific pattern.
