Location: Oswestry Leisure Centre SY11 4QB
Full Time: 37 hours per week (there are a range of hours available)
Working hours: A mixture of early, late and weekend shifts
Salary: £23,672.40 per annum + excellent benefits
Here at Shropshire Community Leisure Trust our goal is to get more people, more active, more often. To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for a Senior Lifeguard to join our leisure centres in a range of contracted hours.
Responsibilities
As the Senior Lifeguard, the purpose of the role will be to work within the centre whilst ensuring customer safety and high standards of service and customer care. You will be reporting to the duty manager and in the duty manager's absence, the successful candidate will be managing the facility and ensure all activities are delivered to a high standard. You will be involved in supervising specific activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and working on the safe handling and set up of equipment. You will also help to save lives when needed.
You will work as part of a close knit team to provide an inclusive leisure hub for the community and support the delivery of activities.
What you’ll need to do the role
You’ll need excellent customer service skills as you’ll interact heavily with customers. Whether you’ve gained this experience in a leisure or another customer-facing environment, you’ll be a people person who is comfortable dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Responsibilities include providing customer care to people of all ages, supervising activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensuring the safe handling and setup of pool equipment.
Safety is essential: you should be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations. You should have strong swimming skills and it is desirable that you hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society) or equivalent.
