Requirements
Education & Background
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or a related quantitative discipline
* Several years of proven experience as a power trader, ideally with a strong track record in Dutch and/or German power markets
Skills & Experience
* Take ownership of VAR allocation, managing risks and contribute meaningfully to achieving annual P&L targets
* Deep understanding of European power markets, particularly NL and DE (market design, products, liquidity, fundamentals, regulation)
* Strong experience with forward curve construction, valuation and curve marking.
* Demonstrated ability to generate and execute profitable trading strategies across different tenors
* Comfortable working with analytics and models, and able to challenge and interpret model results
* Proficiency in using trading and analytics tools (e.g. ETRM systems, exchanges, Excel); experience with Python/R or similar is an advantage
* Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a disciplined approach to risk management
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies to a diverse set of stakeholders, not limited to; Traders, Originators, Analysts, Risk Managers and operations
* Excellent language skills in English; German or Dutch is an advantage
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong commercial drive
* Decisive, calm under pressure, and confident in taking risk within agreed limits
* A team player who is collaborative and open, able to work closely with analytics, risk and portfolio teams
* Structured, reliable and transparent in reporting and documentation
* Continuous improvement mindset – always looking to enhance tools, processes and strategies
