Site Operative (Civils and Highways)
Salary: £32,000 - £45,000
Location: Wolverhampton
The Role:
Field-based role supporting drainage survey projects across the UKs highway network. Youll operate GPS and Quickview equipment to complete surveys (full training provided). The position involves frequent travel, overnight stays, and both day and night shift work.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform assigned tasks efficiently and safely, including but not limited to general labouring, GPS surveying, vegetation clearance, drainage surveys, and asset inspections in line with company, project and statutory requirements.
Operate survey equipment and record accurate data using bespoke software
Follow all site health and safety procedures
Complete daily vehicle checks and maintain records
Assist with manual handling of survey and drainage equipment
Work flexibly outdoors on day and night shifts
Stay away from home regularly during the week
Participate in training and safety briefings
What Youll Need:
Valid CSCS card
Full UK driving licence (2+ years, clean)
Physically fit and capable of manual handling
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexible, positive attitude to travel and varied shift patterns
Experience with GPS/Total Station preferred but not essential
Previous civils or highways experience is advantageous
Proficient with technology (apps/tablets) and Microsoft applications.
