We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to join our team in Hemel Hempstead as a Warehouse Operations Manager to lead a team of warehouse shift managers, section leaders, and operatives. As a Warehouse Operations Manager at Gist, you will be accountable for the delivery of our objectives across all shifts and changes. You will support the network, allowing Gist to excel in service and minimise cost risks. In this role, you will lead the warehouse functions of the distribution centre, ensuring that customer requirements are met efficiently and cost-effectively.

Salary:£48,000 to £53,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours:40 hours Per Week
Working pattern: DAYS | 5 Days from 7 (inc. 1 weekend in 3)

Interview Process Overview
* Automated Video Interview: Candidates complete a short online video interview via Willo to provide an initial insight into their skills and motivation
* Initial Telephone Interview: A follow-up call with our recruitment team to discuss experience, suitability, and expectations in more detail
* On-site Assessment Day: Selected candidates will attend an in-person assessment day, including interviews & practical exercises
What You’ll Do
* Support shift managers with counselling, coaching, and the development of all employees.
* Ensure effective communication within the warehouse teams through meetings, briefings, shift managers, DLCs
* Drive positive change and engage culture, bringing to life the Gist values
* Be responsible for Operational excellence, i.e., cost and service delivery, including Peak planning/delivery
* Be responsible for overall productivity within the operation, ensure that activities are cost-effective, and manage levels of manpower and other resources.
* Plan and coordinate detailed operational activities through shift managers to ensure the required level of service is provided to the customer.
* Manage customer service including escalation to store
* Deliver operational KPIs, maintain and improve performance levels to maximize efficiency
* Deliver the warehouse budget
* Own continuous improvement initiatives and controllable costs
Who You Are
* Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of a warehouse function within the FMCG Distribution Industry.
* A background operating at a managerial level is essential.
* A passion for encouraging teamwork and creating an innovative culture where all employees can voice their suggestions and ideas.
* Excellent team management and customer relationship skills.
* An analytical mindset.
* Flexibility to cover various shift patterns in the future.
* Previous experience working with Trade Unions.
